Live

Live earth

The world’s fleet, right now.

Every glowing point is a real ship that reported its position in the last 3 hours. Coral marks a few of those under way.

Where the positions come from

  • Global AIS streamAround 155 messages a second from terrestrial receivers worldwide, ingested in real time.
  • Receiver stationsExtra receiver stations and map sources fill regions the main feed covers poorly; impossible jumps are filtered out.
  • Satellite check on demandFor ships far from shore, ask an extra tracking source for a fresh position, per vessel.

Positions rounded to 0.2° and sampled for the map.

The platform

One live picture. Built to act on.

Follow ships, react to what they do and pipe the signal straight into your own systems.

Live global map

Positions stream in as ships report. Filter by type, flag, speed, status or destination, search by name, MMSI or IMO and switch on the port layer.

Satellite check, on demand

Out of coastal range? Ask for a ship's position now — from your fleet page, on a schedule, or with verify=true in the API. Applied only if it is newer.

Signed webhooks

Port calls, silences and new destinations land in your stack as they happen, signed with HMAC-SHA256.

Fleets

Watch sets of the ships you care about — paste up to 200 MMSIs or IMOs at once, label them, see who is moving and who went quiet, export to CSV.

Public REST API

One header, JSON everywhere, a published credit cost per call — documented end to end, with an OpenAPI 3.1 spec.

How it works

From sign‑up to signal in three steps.

  1. 1

    Create your account

Free, no card. Explore the live map and the ship directory right away and create your API keys.

  2. 2

Pick a plan, build a fleet

Fleets, webhook alerts and the 7‑day track on the map come with a paid plan. Add ships by name, MMSI or IMO — or paste up to 200 IDs at once.

  3. 3

    Get the signal

Watch the map, receive webhooks or pull everything through the API.

Fleet alerts

Know before anyone asks.

Detectors watch every ship in your fleets around the clock. When something changes, a signed event is already on its way to your endpoint.

  • HMAC-SHA256 signature on every delivery
  • Automatic retries with backoff
  • Idempotency key on every delivery
  • Per-fleet filters, test sends and a delivery log

Event stream

POST → your endpoint

  • fleet.port_call

Entered or left a port geofence

  • fleet.destination_changed

    The AIS destination was updated

  • fleet.gone_silent

Stopped reporting for longer than the silence threshold

  • fleet.position

Sampled positions, for your own systems

X-AIS-Signature: 7f3c…e91a · HMAC-SHA256

Who it’s for

One feed. Many jobs, at sea and on shore.

The same live picture, shaped to the way your team works.

  • Fleet operators

    Every ship accounted for

Silent ships and port calls surface on their own, not in the next status call.

  • Chartering & brokers

    Positions you can quote on

See where tonnage really is and which way it is heading before you fix.

  • Port agents

    Arrivals without surprises

Geofence alerts tell you when a call starts, so berths and services are ready.

  • Insurers & risk

    Exposure, located

Check where insured hulls are and verify positions when it matters.

  • Logistics & cargo owners

    ETAs grounded in reality

Follow the ships carrying your cargo and react when destinations change.

  • Developers

Maritime data as an API call

Vessels, tracks, ports and fleets over REST — no AIS infrastructure to run.

For developers

Vessel data, one request away.

Authenticate with a single X-API-Key header and get clean JSON back. Every call has a published credit cost, every key its own rate limit.

  • Vessels by MMSI or IMO, search with filters, 7‑day tracks, ports and areas
  • Fleet positions in one call, with optional verify=true — and fleet changes over the API
  • Credits remaining on every response, usage charted per day
  • 402 when credits run out — never a surprise invoice

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Straight answers before you sign up.

Ships broadcast their identity and position over AIS (Automatic Identification System). We ingest a global AIS stream in real time — around 155 messages a second — and add receiver stations, extra map sources and on-demand position checks where coastal coverage is thin. Positions from secondary sources pass a plausibility check, so physically impossible jumps are rejected.

Yes. Signing up is free and needs no card: you get the live map, ship search and API keys straight away (the ship directory needs no account at all). Fleets, webhook alerts, exact coordinates and track history on the map come with a paid plan; API calls are paid in credits, from a plan or a one-time pack. Billing runs securely through Stripe.

A watch set of vessels (by MMSI or IMO) you care about, up to your plan's limit, with labels and CSV export. Fleet ships are highlighted on the map and every change — a port call, a silence, a new destination — can trigger a webhook.

Every public API call has a published cost in credits. Your plan refills a monthly bucket; top-up packs add permanent credits. When both are empty the API answers 402 — there are no overage charges.

fleet.port_call (geofence enter / exit), fleet.gone_silent, fleet.destination_changed and sampled fleet.position updates. Each delivery is signed with HMAC-SHA256 and retried with backoff. You can limit an endpoint to some fleets, send a test event and see every delivery in the log.

When a ship is out of coastal AIS range, you can ask for its latest position on demand — from your fleet page (also on a schedule) or through the API with verify=true. We ask an extra tracking source and replace the stored position only when it is newer. It is billed in credits per vessel checked; a repeat within 5 minutes is free.

The map follows the live stream. History is sampled — not every raw message is stored — and kept for 7 days, so tracks stay fast and affordable to query.

Yes, publicly: the API reference lists every endpoint with its live credit cost, the rate limit and the webhook payloads, and an OpenAPI 3.1 spec lets you generate a client. You can read both before signing up.
